Fake Belly Button Rings Can Fool Anyone!
Due to the popularity of belly button rings, some companies have develop a “fake” or “non-piercing” navel ring. These belly rings are supposed to look just like the real thing, be pain free, and stay on with ease. In addition, they have even branched out to include other body jewelry such as fake “gauged” earrings and fake nipple rings.
To wear the fake belly button ring, a user need not have the actual piercing. This concept proves beneficial for those who cannot have an actual piercing dur to dress codes, parental permission, etc.
Fake belly button rings typically have an arm that is attached to a spring and has a flat surface on the end that will press into the skin. One simply opens the clip by pulling back the hinged arm, similar to a clip on earring. Then they will place the bottom or stationary arm inside the navel and press it to the back. Then they should gently close the clip by moving the movable arm back into position and the belly button ring will be attached.
There are some styles that require a person to glue a gem to the navel to create the look of a belly button ring. Others have a spring loaded system that attach the non-piercing belly button ring. These styles are much less popular because users report poor quality, pain and difficulty keeping them in place.
Reportedly, the clip on style will fit securely during everyday wear, but are not designed to stay put in water. They supposedly look real and cause no pain, if worn correctly.
There are a couple of drawbacks to these clip on belly button rings. They are not ideal for a person with an “outie” belly button or even an irregularly shaped belly button. In addition, they tend to be much more expensive than a traditional belly button ring available for purchase online. Fake belly button rings are sold some places for as much as $25 whereas traditional non dangling belly button rings can be as little as $3.
